The White Horse Press was delighted to sponsor the Global Environment poster prize at the recent World Congress of Environmental History in Oulu. The winning entry by Silvia Lotman of Tallinn University was selected from the poster exhibition by judges Claudia Leal, an environmental historian of Latin America who is full professor at the Department of History and Geography at Universidad de los Andes; and Claire Campbell, who is an environmental historian and the History Department Chair at Bucknell University; assisted by James Rice from The White Horse Press. The judges felt Silvia Lotman’s poster stood out from a diverse and interesting field of competition for the clarity and concision of its narrative and for the way in which it used the graphic potential of the poster format to drive that narrative.
